Do you know what the definition of emotional competency is? Do not feel bad there are many people who do not understand the distance of the emotional expansion. Your emotional competency is defined as the level in which you react emotionally when something little happens. Just could be something as little as not paying your rent on time, or maybe having to talk to someone about your job.

There are a lot of stressful situation that you may have to deal with on an everyday basis. Once you have reached the higher level of emotional competency then you will more than likely be able to handle your stress in a total different way, than you were used to.

People make decisions all based around the way they are thinking at the time. This is what we call cognitive or else intellectual thinking. Sometimes, we get lost in our emotions, making the thinking harder for us to do. Emotions can make it difficult for a person to think clearly.

It is all how you manage stress as to how your emotions will respond. Therefore, as a person you should understand your own personal thoughts as well as your feelings. The more you are able to understand your emotions the easier it will be for you to go in the right direction. This will help you to be able to think more positive in which we all could use that in our life.

Do you understand your responses? If not just, think about it. It is a simple answer. The person's emotions make them react in anger, sadness, joy, etc. There are many components of emotional states. Once you learn, what the emotions are you will be able to develop the skills that are needed to reach the highest planes of emotional competency. This is very important to help the growth and self-development processes.

The accurate self-assessment helps you with knowing the competency in the knowing of your inner resources, and the limitation along with the ability to overcome emotional reactions that slow your progress. Self-assessment allows you to become aware of your individual strengths.

You must be willing to hear the bad and the good things that people have to say about you, in order to be able to reach your higher planes of emotional competency. You should be able to clearly, visualize what people are telling you and do something about it with a positive attitude. As well, as be willing to change your thinking to a positive attitude.

You should be able to have a sense of humor when it comes to your personality or your actions. Be able to take it like a man and go on. Not get all mad wanting to fight. Grow up! You have to be able to laugh at our own faults and mistakes we all make them. There is more then just that have to be able to learn your limits and strengths. Therefore, we can be able to learn from the mistakes and be able to do something about them. Most feedback that we are receiving is negative so we have to learn to learn and listen as well as be able to brush it off as if it was not anything. However, learn from it. Many of us do not take negative feedback very well so we have to learn to take it them turn it into positive feedback and go with it. You know the old saying learn from your mistakes well this is when you are going to have to put that saying to work.

There are ways that you can learn from this without making the same mistakes. You can always ask your close friends, family members or coworkers to help you. Why not ask them for there input on the matter. Come out and ask them how you can change your negative behavior to positive behavior. You may not like what they have to say but oh well if it is going to work then why not it does. You are helping yourself in the end. We must examine our movement and changes to estimate self-subversion.
